Our Leaders
Mr. Ahl joined the Galesi Group as Director of Development and Marketing in 2007 and shortly thereafter was promoted to manage all leasing and marketing activities for the company’s 9 million square foot industrial portfolio. In 2015, David was promoted to Vice President of Galesi’s Industrial Parks Division and named an officer of the company. In this new role, Mr. Ahl was responsible for managing all aspects of the company’s industrial operations including marketing, leasing, property management, construction, and strategic planning. David also was tasked with direct oversight of the Galesi Group’s third-party logistics company, Distribution Unlimited, reporting directly to the President. David helped grow Distribution Unlimited’s revenues to historic levels and played an instrumental role establishing it as an industry leader.
In 2020 Mr. Ahl was promoted to Executive Vice President and tasked with managing the company’s Commercial portfolio consisting of an additional 2 million square feet of office, residential, and mixed-use space. David combined the resources of both divisions to create a new Real Estate Division that is responsible to for all real estate activities and construction management for the company’s 11 million square foot real estate portfolio. In March 2022, Mr. Ahl was named Chief Operating Officer of the Galesi Group. In this role David remains responsible for the company’s real estate and logistics activities with expanded duties including financial and administrative oversight for the entire Galesi Group.
Prior to joining the Galesi Group David spend 11 years serving in various Economic Development capacities for New York State. Before he left the State, Mr. Ahl served as Deputy Commissioner of Empire State Development Corporation and had direct oversight of the agency’s Regional Offices and Small Business Division. While at Empire State Development David spearheaded several high-profile economic development projects resulting in significant positive economic impact for New Yorkers across the State.
Mr. Ahl volunteers his time and expertise serving on several planning and land-use committees in the communities that he conducts business. Presently, Mr. Ahl is a committee member of Rotterdam’s Comprehensive Plan Advisory Committee where he and his colleagues are helping shape a new Comprehensive Plan for the Town. David resides in Loudonville, NY with his wife Caroline and his two children, William and Carleigh.
