Sonny Bonacio, Dave Buicko selected to national list of CRE executives
Sonny Bonacio of Bonacio Construction and Dave Buicko of The Galesi Group have been selected to a national list of notable commercial real estate executives.
The Business Journals’ Influencers: Commercial Real Estate spotlights 100 executives having an influence on real estate and development in their respective communities. These 100 executives represent both large, nationally recognized firms and smaller, family-owned businesses. Some are long-tenured executives while others have found success relatively early in their careers. These individuals are having an impact on the business being done in communities from coast to coast.
Buicko is president and CEO of The Galesi Group. Headquartered in Rotterdam, the firm’s diverse portfolio includes 12 million square feet of industrial, commercial, retail and residential properties. The company transformed an old industrial site along the Mohawk River in Schenectady into the $150 million Mohawk Harbor mixed-use development and partnered with Rush Street Gaming of Chicago on the $330 million Rivers Casino and Resort.
Buicko is a director and past chairman of the Center for Economic Growth and a member of the Capital Region Regional Economic Development Council.
Bonacio started his business in 1988 building decks and home additions in his hometown of Saratoga Springs. Over the past 30 years, he’s developed more than 1.2 million square feet of real estate in Saratoga Springs, including hundreds of luxury condominiums, apartments, retail stores, and historic renovations. His reach has expanded to Troy and Glens Falls and other communities in the Albany area. He has partnered with Buicko on three development projects.
