Oct. 28 benefit concert set for families of limo crash victims, first responders
SCHOHARIE — Local musical favorites Skeeter Creek and Grand Central Station will headline a benefit concert for the families of the victims of the Schoharie limousine crash as well as the first responders at the scene of the deadly Oct. 6 incident.
“Healing Schoharie” will be held noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28, at Mohawk Harbor in Schenectady.
Tickets are $10 and can be purchased online or at the door.
The concert will open with a special performance featuring Union College’s three a cappella groups: the Eliphalets, the Dutch Pipers and the Garnet Minstrels.
The event will also feature food vendors, a raffle of items donated by local businesses, kid activities and more. There will also be a “live jukebox” in which each band will play special requests for a donation.
Druthers Brewing Co. at Mohawk Harbor will donate all proceeds from its beer sales at the event, as well as 50 percent of all customer checks for meals and drinks served in the restaurant.
