Developer Sonny Bonacio fills office space above downtown Saratoga theater

Marketing firm McMurry/TMG is moving into a new office above Criterion Cinemas in downtown Saratoga Springs, NY, a change of address that will result in nearly all of the commercial space being filled in the building.

McMurry/TMG is moving about 25 employees to the second floor above the 11-screen movie theater at 19 Railroad Place, said Jim Hill, chief strategy officer.

McMurry/TMG currently leases space inside the Van Raalte Mill at 125 High Rock Ave.

The firm is headquartered in Phoenix, with 275 employees at offices in several cities.

Although the firm is changing its local address, the landlord remains the same: Sonny Bonacio.

Bonacio, president of Bonacio Construction, teamed with The Galesi Group of Rotterdam to build the $18 million mixed-use building. The movie theater opened last October, with 24,000 square feet of empty office space on the upper two floors.

McMurry/TMG is leasing “a large portion” of the second floor, Bonacio said, and may wind up taking the entire space.

The top floor is now filled by Informz Inc., a digital marketing firm that moved into the building within the past two weeks, said Lori Ely, the firm’s marketing director.

Informz has more than 70 employees, with about 50 working out of the office and the others remotely from home. Informz was previously located at 92 Congress St. in Saratoga Springs.

Besides the roughly 12,000 square feet of office space, Informz also will have a 3,500-square-foot outdoor “green roof.”
“It’s a nice place for employees to relax,” Ely said. “It inspires creativity.”
