Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA)  has implemented the use of green oils in its maintenance of support vehicles. Over 40 vehicles will use the green oils which are biodegradable and nontoxic. The oils will be used in vehicles critical to the operation of CDTA, but not the organization’s buses or shuttles.

The 5W30 oil being used by CDTA is made by Green Earth Technologies and is supplied by the Schenectady company, Green Plant Products LLC. The oil will offer better engine performance on the support vehicles operated by CDTA on its bus routes and at the Saratoga and Rensselaer Rail Stations.
